Systems Engineer - Remote Infrastructure Management/Support

Job Description

The person will work on Interface with international customers, provide remote systems monitoring administration and technical support on IP networks, Servers ,databases ,Software and Web applications, resolve systems related issues through research and troubleshooting. The candidate will closely work with the technical managers to enable niche technology and delivery capabilities in the area of Managed services

Desired Candidate Profile

Overall IT experience of 3 to 5 years with excellent understanding of various IP Network elements, Servers and Databases.

• Prior experience in Internet, Networking and Server support
• Proficiency in administering major Operating Systems/servers especially on Linux (Redhat, Fedora, Ubuntu).
• Proficiency in SNMP Monitoring systems – Nagios,HP Openview,Hyperic etc.
• Proficieny in installing and configuring webservers (Apache,IIS etc)
• Decent knowledge on troubleshooting for firewall and Proxy servers.
• CCNA / CCNP certification is preferred
• Should be a self-starter, with excellent interpersonal, communication, documentation, problem solving and trouble-shooting skills.
• Quality focus, result & goal orientation in a group situation and commitment to customer delight are a must.
• Willingness to work in international time zones & relocation to Chennai are a must.
• Knowledge and experience with web based applications, best practices, processes and tools.

• Candidates should have Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Candidates without Unix/Linux OS skills / experience need not apply.
